Hi Geri,
I love the words to your song "starving for attention". The words jump off the screen and right into my heart because they are so real. I have had anorexia symptoms since i was in 6th grade, I am now a freshman in college, and like you said on your webpage, you don't have to be extremely skinny to have anorexia. I am 5'6'' and at a pretty healthy weight for my weight and age, but that doesn't mean I am struggling. I just wanted to thank you for writing such a beautiful song. I wanted to know if you felt the same way I do now: sometimes there are times when you just go without eating, but then there are other times when you're just so upset that you keep eating, so much and just cannot stop. This has been happening to me A LOT lately. Well thank you again, the song is great!

Thanks E! You're such a sweetheart. Yes, I still feel the same way now as I did years ago. Every day is a struggle to recover and manage my disease. If I forget to treat EDs as a disease, it can emotionally and physically take over. Anorexia and bulimia need to be managed for life. It does get easier with knowledge and support. Doing the right things to nurture and be true to ourselves each day is the ticket. OA, therapy, and rehab are all very important at different times in our recovery too. Thanks for liking my song too!

Welcome to the first day of my blog. I got a lovely email from a good friend of mine on the web this morning. She inspired me to get back to blogging about recovery from eating disorders. Caty is a very special young woman in my life. I met her years ago when she emailed me to talk about the abuse and pain in her life. She's my first buddy from Britain... and I've "adopted" her because she's so amazing. We've been in touch over the years and I'm proud to present her new poetry site.
